Here is the trailer for the animated, straight to video release of Batman: The Dark Knight Returns Part 1, releasing on September 25.  This looks pretty sweet.  While I am not a huge fan of animated films (there are some exceptions), I have been a fan of these DC releases.  They have all been pretty good to great releases.  This looks to be no different.

This is based on the acclaimed Frank Miller story The Dark Knight Returns, which was some of the inspiration for Christopher Nolan‘s Batman films.  This follows Bruce Wayne as he comes out of retirement . . .for . . .uh, I don’t remember.  I haven’t read it in probably 15 years.  Anywho, it looks pretty good.  Take a look:
