I’m not 100% sure if I have made my feelings clear on this Superman reboot, titled Man of Steel. I am not sold. I’m not sure about the costume, and I’m certainly not sure about Henry Cavill (Immortals, Blood Creek). While I feel that Zack Snyder (Dawn of the Dead, Sucker Punch) has it in him to make a good Superman film, I’m not sure if he has it in him to make a GREAT Superman film.
After watching the trailer for Man of Steel, I liked the fact that Snyder seems to be going along a more subdued route instead of his flashy speed up/slow down style. The trailer, while not showing, well, anything, really, is a lot more subdued, and upon watching it again it reminds me of a Michael Bay (Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, Pearl Harbor) trailer. This is not good . . .
What we have here is a fan made re-cut version of the same trailer. The music is John Williams score from the original 1978 Superman: The Movie. The voice over is from the same film and is Marlon Brando. This is a thousand times more effective as a trailer and it is simply due to the music. Have a look:
This is simply music that is indelibly tied to the character of Superman. When I read a Superman comic book, I hear John Williams score. Come on Snyder, you have to realize this. Without this score you are going to fail. No matter how good the film ends up being, without an iconic score like this, you will not survive. Just do us all a favor and hire John Williams to do the score. Pay him whatever he wants to do it. He’s the only one who can . . .

I Totally Agree, Dude.
The Classic Score Is Exceptionally ICONIC. Period. It’s The Music That We ALL Know And Love As Being SUPERMAN’S THEME.
I Think I May Have To Watch Me Some Superman 1, 2 & 3. I Own All Three And LOVE THEM. Part 4, However, Is By Far My Least Favorite.
But Even That Crappy One Had The GREAT SCORE Ya Know!?!?!
Anyway, I Digress.
