On July 31, 2012, Lionsgate will re-release Total Recall on blu-ray with the Total Recall: Mind Bending Edition. To take advantage of the theatrical remake, this film is getting a new hi-def transfer. This is already available on blu-ray, but that version is horrible. Sure, it is cheap, but the transfer is horrid. I bought it and was severely disappointed. I am looking forward to this one.
Blu-Ray.com has this to say about the special features:
Lionsgate’s Blu-ray presents the film in its original aspect ratio of 1.85:1 with a 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio track. The disc also contains the following supplements:
- Interview with Paul Verhoeven
- Restoration comparison looking at the high-definition transfer from the original film negative
- Behind-the-scenes featurettes:
- Models and Skeletons: The Special Effects Of Total Recall
- Imagining Total Recall
- Making-of featurette
- Audio commentary with Arnold Schwarzenegger and Paul Verhoeven

Mark the date of July 31, 2012. This movie is well worth picking up.
