In 2009 a Virginia Tech student, Morgan Harrington, disappeared while hitchhiking home from a Metallica concert. Three months later her remains were found in a field just ten miles from the venue where Metallica played.
The killer is still at large, but the FBI has linked the suspect to a sexual assault in 2005 through DNA. Police don’ t know who the man is and are asking the public for help.
There is a new campaign to catch the killer, and it features a video recorded by James Hetfield of Metallica. Metallica had offered a reward of $50,000 for the person who captured the killer.
