The blonde dude is Fandral
Josh Dallas, the actor who played Fandral (one of the Warriors Three) in Thor, is reportedly unable to reprise his role in Thor 2 due to scheduling conflicts with his television series Once Upon a Time. So what does a studio do? They re-cast, of course!
While this type of story usually wouldn’t make my blog, what makes this one so interesting is who is in early negotiations to take over the role. Zachary Levi, tv’s Chuck, is in the early stages of negotiations. Ironically, he was the initial choice for Fandral in Thor, but had to drop out due to scheduling conflicts with his show, Chuck, and that’s where Josh Dallas came in. So, everything is coming full circle!
I was an unabashed fan of the show Chuck, and was upset to see it canceled. So, it makes me happy to see that Zachary Levi hasn’t completely disappeared and may be in Thor 2. YAY!
