- Word is that Marvel is in the early stages of getting a Black Panther movie underway. Black Panther has been a member of The Avengers since 1968.
- Word is that Marvel is also developing a Doctor Strange film for 2014, along with Edgar Wright‘s (Shaun of the Dead, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World) Ant-Man.
- News broke yesterday that Warner Bros. were developing a Justice League movie again; sources state it will be darker and more mature.
- Hot on the heels of the Justice League announcement, Warner Bros. has hired a writer to script a Wonder Woman film.
- A Flash film is also currently in production.
- Directors (yes, plural) have been hired for Captain America 2. Anthony and Joe Russo (Community) are the dudes who got the gig.
From these little news bits, it seems that Marvel is amping up it’s Avengers universe, and that DC and Warner Bros. have learned a lesson about a shared universe. Looks like Warner Bros. is getting it’s ducks in a row to try to replicate Marvel’s success with The Avengers. This just means good things for us comic film fans.
Ant-Man! Ant-Man! Ant-Man!
I hope we get a Moon Knight movie eventually too.
