Well, let’s put this one in the not necessary column, like most remakes.
It seems that Sam Raimi (Spider-Man 1, 2 and 3, The Evil Dead) has signed on to produce this remake for MGM. He is not going to be directing, and part of his responsibility on the project is to find a director. Honestly, I think it is a great idea that he isn’t directing. His frenetic style will just not mesh with the material.
I love the original Poltergeist and once again feel this is completely unnecessary. I mean, is Hollywood so out of ideas that they need to recycle everything? While I respect Raimi, I would have thought he’d have more brains than to become attached to something like this. Has he not seen all the venom spewed at Michael Bay for dabbling in remakes? Hopefully Raimi will bring something fresh to the table, but I would rather he make something original and not this remake or The Evil Dead remake, which he is also producing.
Poltergeist still holds up very well. This is completely outrageous. *shakes head*
Yeah, I Don’t Really See A Need For A Remake, Either.
Yes, You Read That Correctly hehehe
It DOES Seem As Though Hollywood Either HAS Run Out Of Original Ideas, Or HAS Run Out Of Original Ideas!!!
