The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that New Line has hired a writer to pen the script for a Rampage movie. And I’m not talking about ‘Rampage’ Jackson (The A-Team film). I’m talking the old school video game about three mutated monsters on a, well, rampage.
They state that this is a priority for New Line, which is looking to make an Independence Day style feature. All I have to say about this is: What took so long? Of all the video game properties adapted or considered for adaptation, Rampage seems like a no brainer. Come on, a Godzilla-like lizard, a werewolf and a King Kong-like gorilla running around smashing stuff.
I used to be a huge fan of Rampage in the arcade and the PS2 game. Loved it! What can be more fun than smashing buildings and the army? Click on over to The Hollywood Reporter to read more of the story. Thanks to IGN for the heads up.
