Ok, maybe I was stretching a bit with that title. Any way, The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that David Slade (Hard Candy, 30 Days of Night, Twilight: Eclipse) will be directing the pilot of the new Hannibal Lector tv series, titled Hannibal.
This is good news and bad news. Good news is that Slade is directing. I have been a fan since the brilliant but little seen Hard Candy. While 30 Days of Night was pulpy vampire fun, I wasn’t completely thrilled with it. He did direct the best installment (by a mile) of the Twilight franchise, Eclipse. He is also attached to the reboot of Daredevil, which, I’m sure, will be another origin story (yawn).
The bad news? They are making a television series out of Hannibal ‘The Cannibal’ Lector. How is that going to work? I have no idea, but with Slade attached to direct, I will be tuning in.
